1. The international innovation platform “Innoweek.uz”
Navoi State University actively participates in the international innovation platform Innoweek.uz, which has been held annually since 2018 to accelerate innovative development in Uzbekistan. The event aims to promote the implementation of advanced technologies across all sectors of the economy and to strengthen human capital, science, and innovation. In InnoWeek-2025, held under the slogan “Ideas Without Borders,” high-ranking officials such as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration on Education Reform X. Umarova, Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women Affairs Z. Maxkamova, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Q. Sharipov, along with leaders of various ministries, diplomats, researchers, technology experts, startup ecosystem participants, and the Navoi State University team took part in the opening ceremony, highlighting the country’s and the university’s commitment to innovation and sustainable progress.
Navoi State University  hosted an international scientific-practical conference on the topic “Prospects for the development of science, technology, natural sciences, technology and digital education “ASEDU-IV “. Representatives of a number of prestigious higher education institutions of the Russian Federation participated in it online.
At the international conference held under the leadership of the rector of the Navoi State University , professor M Kalonov , researchers, professors, teachers, doctoral students from the institute and the leading universities of our republic, as well as St. Petersburg University teacher Anastasia Pivovarova, director of the Krasnoyarsk Science and Technology Center, Igor Kovalyov and other scientists participated with scientific lectures and presentations.
Scientific researchers, professors and doctoral students of the Navoi State University , specialists from Termiz State University and media representatives, as well as Anastasia Pivovarova, a teacher of the St. Petersburg National Research University, Igor Kovalyov, director of the House of Science and Technology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, will participate in the international conference. and others are involved.
Our university  rector attended in the second forum of rectors of Uzbekistan-Tajikistan higher education institutions. About 100 heads of higher education institutions, heads of ministries and departments of the two countries participated in the conference on the theme “2030: Priority directions for the development of higher education, sustainability and science in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan”. At the forum, integration between the higher education institutions of our country and the universities of Tajikistan, exchange of professors and teachers, organization of mutual learning processes, improvement of the quality of education, introduction of digital technologies in education, issues of professional development and development of cooperation in scientific activities were discussed. More than 20 memorandums of understanding, agreements and “Roadmaps” were signed at the end of the forum.
Our institute actively participates in the international forum called “Tourism on the Silk Road” as a reginal coordinator. “Tourism on the Silk Road” is a large-scale event that gathers leading experts in the field of tourism and sustainable development institutions around the world. Presentations of tourism opportunities of dozens of countries, meetings and business negotiations of hundreds of experts, as well as international conferences on the main issues of sustainable development are held here.
On the initiative of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the Navoi State University , an international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic “Modern digital technologies in education: problems and prospects”. This conference was significant because it was dedicated to the current issues, problems and solutions of the introduction of modern digital technologies in education.  At the conference, the theoretical aspects of positive solutions to the global issues of digitalization of education and were shown. Specialist scientists of a number of countries, including Malaysia, Russia, Belarus, Poland, as well as leading higher educational institutions of our Republic, actively participated in the discussion of these issues with their scientific theories and views.
The exhibition organized within the framework of the 5th International Scientific Conference on “The Role of Alisher Navoi’s Scientific and Literary Heritage in the Spiritual and Educational Development of Humanity”, held at the Chashma Amphitheater in Nurota District. The exhibition showcased manuscripts, research works, and creative projects by students dedicated to Alisher Navoi’s life and literary legacy, highlighting his enduring influence on world culture and enlightenment.
International cooperation between universities has been further strengthened through new academic partnerships. Within this framework, four international students from an Indonesian university began their studies for one semester at the Faculty of Languages of Navoi State University, majoring in English Philology. Such exchange programs play a vital role in enhancing academic collaboration, cultural understanding, and innovative research, laying the foundation for sustainable development and long-term institutional cooperation between universities.
In the Navoi region — in particular at Navoi State University — a major international event is taking place: The International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic “The Role of Alisher Navoi’s Scientific and Literary Heritage in the Spiritual and Educational Development of Humanity.”  At this moment, the participants of the conference are being solemnly welcomed at the Navoi railway station and are heading to their designated destinations. ithin the framework of the conference, a number of events are being held — a flower-laying ceremony, the official opening ceremony of the conference, sectional meetings, as well as other official gatherings and dialogues.
The International Scientific and Cultural Symposium “Mawlana and Alisher Navoi: The Path of Wisdom and Knowledge” is being held in Konya, Republic of Türkiye. The event brings together scholars, cultural figures, and representatives from various countries to explore the spiritual and intellectual legacy of two great thinkers — Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi and Alisher Navoi.  The Uzbekistan delegation, including Professor Muxiddin Kalonov, Rector of Navoi State University, and Olimjon Davlatov, Executive Director of the Alisher Navoi International Public Foundation, actively participated in the symposium. During the sessions, they delivered insightful presentations on the significance of Rumi’s and Navoi’s humanistic ideas, unique creativity, and historical manuscripts for today’s generation.
The symposium aims to promote universal values such as peace, tolerance, humanism, and spiritual growth through the timeless works of these two luminaries, strengthening cultural and academic ties between nations.
A new group of international students has begun their studies at Navoi State University. At the start of the current academic year, nearly 100 students from Egypt, the UAE, India, and Nepal were admitted to the medical program at the university. To welcome the newcomers, an introductory meeting was organized for students and their parents, where they were familiarized with the university’s academic system, facilities, and student support services. During the event, international students visited lecture halls, laboratories, the Information Resource Center, and student dormitories, expressing their satisfaction with the study environment and hospitality. This initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation and improving the quality and global competitiveness of education at Navoi State University.
As part of the international accreditation and quality assurance process, experts from AQCUIN (Germany) — the international organization for accreditation and evaluation of higher education quality — visited the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine at Navoi State University.
During the visit, Mr. Martin Borg, Mr. Bo Marin Schachtl, and Dr. Michael Mayer examined the laboratory facilities of the Biology education program to assess compliance with international academic and research standards.
This visit marks an important step in strengthening the university’s commitment to quality education, transparency, and international sustainability standards, ensuring that academic programs meet global best practices.
Today, Navoi State University held the grand opening of the Alisher Navoiy Scientific Research Center, dedicated to the great thinker, poet, and statesman Alisher Navoiy. The center aims to preserve and promote the rich literary and philosophical heritage of Navoiy, study his works through a modern academic lens, and engage young researchers in the field of Navoiy studies.  The inauguration ceremony was attended by Professor Muxiddin Kalonov, Rector of Navoi State University, and F. To‘xtayev, Head of the Department of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, who officially launched the center and toured its newly equipped facilities.  Turkish literary scholar Kemal Yavuz Ataman also participated in the event, emphasizing the relevance and cultural importance of this initiative in fostering international academic collaboration and preserving the intellectual heritage of humanity.  This initiative supports cultural sustainability by ensuring the transmission of timeless literary and moral values to future generations and by integrating heritage preservation with modern education and research development.
The international forum of university rectors on the theme “Opportunities and Initiatives in Higher Education for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” has commenced in Malaysia.
This high-level event brings together leaders of higher education institutions to discuss global collaboration, sustainable education strategies, and innovative approaches toward realizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through academia. Dr. Mukhiddin Kalonov, Doctor of Economics and Rector of Navoi State University, is taking part in the forum, representing Uzbekistan’s commitment to advancing quality education, sustainability, and international cooperation in higher education.
Following the establishment of new partnership ties, representatives of Navoi State University visited UCSI University in Malaysia — an institution ranked 264th in the QS World University Rankings. During the visit, the delegation held a warm and friendly meeting with the university’s leadership to discuss strategic goals for academic and research collaboration. A presentation about Navoi State University was delivered, highlighting its academic achievements, innovative initiatives, and commitment to sustainability. The delegation also became acquainted with UCSI University’s modern laboratories, media centers, and student facilities, and engaged in meaningful discussions with colleagues about joint educational and research opportunities. This visit marks an important step toward expanding international cooperation and promoting sustainable academic partnerships between Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
Within the framework of the traditional international symposium “Alisher Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance,” scholars from the Imam Khomeini International University of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Navoi State University in Navoi Region. During the symposium’s sectional meetings, Professor Mukhiddin Kalonov, Rector of Navoi State University, held a meeting with the visiting foreign scholars. The discussion, conducted in a warm and respectful atmosphere, focused on strengthening bilateral relations, advancing strategic partnerships, and fostering cooperation in the field of higher education between the two countries. To further expand friendship and academic collaboration, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Navoi State University and Imam Khomeini International University.
According to the memorandum, the two institutions agreed to:
Organize joint scientific and methodological conferences;
Promote student and faculty exchange programs;
Facilitate experience sharing and the implementation of modern academic and methodological practices.
Imam Khomeini International University is known for its strong programs in humanities, engineering, natural sciences, and social sciences, offering high-quality education and research opportunities. Within the framework of the International Academic Mobility Program, foreign professors and lecturers are currently conducting classes at Navoi State University. Their participation contributes to enhancing the quality of education, introducing global academic experiences, and strengthening the university’s international cooperation in line with sustainable development goals and modern educational standards.
Navoi State University Rector, Professor Mukhiddin Kalonov, and Mr. Tom Kiddle, Director of the Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE), United Kingdom, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic and research collaboration.
The main objectives of the memorandum include:
— Expanding cooperation between the two higher education institutions;
— Enhancing the professional development of teachers;
— Promoting joint scientific research and academic exchange programs.

As part of the memorandum of understanding signed between Navoi State University and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), joint academic activities are being successfully implemented. From April 2 to 4, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Marziya Pozilovna Asilbekova, Head of the Department of Pedagogy (PhD in Pedagogical Sciences), and Prof. Kalipa Tursinqyzy Atemova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, from the Department of Pedagogy of the Eurasian National University, visited Navoi State University.
During their visit, the guests conducted 12 hours of lectures and practical sessions on the subject “General Pedagogy” for second-year students majoring in Biology (Kazakh language). In addition, Assoc. Prof. Marziya Asilbekova also delivered 12 hours of classes for second-year students of the Kazakh Language and Literature program.  As part of the visit, the guests met with the faculty members of the Department of Psychology, exchanging professional experiences and discussing future cooperation plans to enhance academic partnership and mutual development.  This visit serves as another important step in strengthening international academic relations, sharing pedagogical experience, and advancing sustainable collaboration between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the field of higher education.
On April 10, 2025, the Department of Social Sciences at Navoi State University organized an International Scientific Conference on the theme “The Scientific and Spiritual Heritage of Central Asia in the Context of the Renaissance.” The conference gathered distinguished scholars and experts from various countries, including the United States, Russia, India, Malaysia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
During the event, participants discussed key topics such as:
New methodological approaches to studying the scientific and cultural heritage of Central Asia;
The spiritual and intellectual essence of Sufism;
The role and influence of the Central Asian Renaissance heritage in the development of modern science;
The significance of scientific and spiritual heritage in the education of young generations.
The conference provided a platform for interdisciplinary academic dialogue within the framework of humanities and social sciences, highlighting innovative research methodologies and the importance of preserving intellectual traditions.At the conclusion of the event, the conference proceedings were officially presented and distributed among the participants.
Navoi State University has taken another significant step in expanding its international cooperation network by establishing a strategic partnership with the world-renowned and prestigious Chinese corporation — Geely Holding.  For reference, Geely Holding is a global leader in the fields of automobile manufacturing, technology, and innovation. Its key educational division, Geely Talent Development Group, currently operates nine modern and innovative educational institutions around the world.
 During an official visit to China, the leadership of Navoi State University held a productive meeting with Zoe Che, Vice President of Geely Corporation. The discussions, conducted in an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect, focused on exploring the prospects of long-term cooperation between the two sides.
 As a result of these negotiations, it was agreed to establish the “Navoi Xinwei Institute” under Navoi State University. This institute will develop and implement specialized educational programs designed for students from Uzbekistan, Central Asia, and other parts of the world.
 The new institution will introduce an AI-based hybrid education model that meets international standards. Additionally, with the investments of the Geely Talent Development Group, a Chinese Language Center will be opened at Navoi State University.
This center will offer a wide range of academic and professional opportunities, including joint educational programs, short-term qualification courses, and exchange programs for students and faculty members.
Navoi State University Students Undertake Internship in the Republic of Tatarstan
A group of talented students from Navoi State University have been sent to the Republic of Tatarstan as part of an internationally recognized grant project to participate in internships and gain practical experience.
This initiative represents a concrete outcome of the university’s international cooperation efforts. It aims to strengthen students’ theoretical knowledge while integrating them into real-world production, research, and scientific processes.
During the internship, students will engage with leading higher education institutions, research centers, and various enterprises in Tatarstan, gaining valuable hands-on experience and fostering professional and academic growth.
Keeping pace with the times and embracing innovation is one of the most important priorities in modern education. Guided by this principle, Geely Holding Corporation and Navoi State University have initiated the establishment of the “Xinwei Institute”, a project that is currently being implemented step by step.  The upcoming institute is expected to become a unique and innovative educational institution not only in Uzbekistan but across the entire Central Asian region. It will focus on integrating advanced educational technologies, personalizing learning processes, and training highly skilled specialists aligned with the needs of modern industries.  As part of the collaboration, an official meeting was held with over 100 leading representatives from the education sector, international experts, and relevant organizations. During this meeting, the parties signed a strategic partnership agreement, marking an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation and shaping the educational infrastructure for the next generation.
To implement Presidential Decree PQ-430 and further develop international cooperation, a delegation from Navoi State University visited Guangxi Vocational and Agricultural University, one of China’s leading institutions in the field of agriculture and vocational education.
 During the visit, the two universities discussed strengthening collaboration in education and research, including:
Implementing joint educational programs;
Establishing student exchange programs under a dual-education model;
Supporting and funding joint scientific research projects;
Organizing faculty exchange programs and short-term internships.
 In addition, the parties agreed to launch a 2+2 joint education program in agriculture and implement collaborative research projects in horticulture and sericulture, further promoting academic and practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
Professor Mukhiddin Kalonov, Rector of Navoi State University, visited the prestigious Seljuk University in Turkey and held a meeting with the university’s Rector. During the discussions, the two universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and agreed on key areas of strategic cooperation.

From May 1 to 4, 2025, an international conference on “Modern Trends in Education: Innovations and Technologies” was held in Turkey.
The event brought together professors, researchers, and specialists from prestigious universities around the world. The conference, indexed in the Web of Science database, provided a platform for presenting cutting-edge research in education and technology. Representing Navoi State University, PhD faculty members of the Department of English Linguistics, Surayyo Saydullayeva and Zebiniso Toychiyeva, participated and delivered presentations on their research. Their contributions highlighted the university’s commitment to international academic engagement and innovation in education.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Navoi State University (Uzbekistan) and Konya Karatay University (Turkey) to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand academic collaboration.
