Navoi State University actively encourages student leadership and civic responsibility through a wide range of student-run and volunteer outreach programs. These initiatives aim to strengthen the connection between education and community service while promoting social responsibility, teamwork, and lifelong learning values.
Student volunteers regularly participate in environmental clean-up campaigns, charity events, mentorship programs, and educational outreach activities in local schools and neighborhoods. Through the “Mehr va Ezgulik” initiative, students support children with special needs and vulnerable families, while the “Ma’rifat ulashib – kitob ulashib” campaign promotes reading culture by donating books to schools in remote areas.
These programs not only enhance students’ practical, communication, and leadership skills, but also foster empathy, civic engagement, and a sense of contribution to the community’s development. The university’s ongoing commitment to student volunteering demonstrates its alignment with the values of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, particularly in promoting inclusive, equitable, and community-oriented learning.
1. May 9 – Educational events organized in connection with the Day of Remembrance and Appreciation
The team of the faculty of pre-school and primary education visited the house of the honorary teacher Ochiloy Ibodullayeva, who worked in the “Pre-school education” department for many years, and had a heart-to-heart conversation.
Professors, teachers and students of the “Pedagogy and Psychology” department of the Faculty of Arts received news from the honorary pedagogue-teacher H.Bobomirzayev.
Professors, teachers and students of the Faculty of Russian and Kazakh Philology visited the house of Grandfather Pirnazar Turdiyev, a participant of the Second World War, and congratulated him on the holiday. She also visited Gulbaram Baymanova’s house, who lives on Gulistan street, Konimekh district, and congratulated her with a holiday.
Achil Baba Ismatov, a labor veteran of the Second World War, took part in the event held at the Faculty of Uzbek Language and Literature.
2. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: Active Volunteer Youth — “We Care About Nature” Campaign
The Environmental Party of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Navoi City Council and Navoi State University, organized a cleaning campaign under the slogan “We Care About Nature” as part of Youth Tourism Week.
During the campaign, active members of the Navoi Volunteer School took an active part in cleaning and beautifying public areas, demonstrating their commitment to environmental protection and civic responsibility.
In recognition of their contribution, volunteers were awarded souvenirs and letters of appreciation by the organizing institutions.
This initiative not only promoted ecological awareness and social responsibility among young people but also supported the goals of SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 13: Climate Action, encouraging youth participation in creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable community
3. A motivational meeting was held with the youth and captains of Navoi region Head of the Department of the Central Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan Lieutenant Colonel F. Sultanov, A. Yangiyev, Q. Hakimov, Deputy of the Department of Pre-school and School Education S. Uvaitov and the Chairman of the Regional Council J. Jumayev youth in the region and met the captains.
Volunteer student groups “Art_Stars” and “Creativ_Artists” organized under the Youth Union Council of Z. Bekboyev Faculty of Arts were also recognized for their active participation and effective activities.
4. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: Republic Training Seminar for Volunteers — “Peer to Peer”
A Republic Training Seminar for Volunteers was held in Navoi City under the “Peer to Peer” principle, bringing together 70 volunteers from all regions of Uzbekistan.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Volunteer Association of the Youth Affairs Agency, Navoi State University, and the Ecologist Public Association to support volunteer activities and establish an eco-volunteer system across the country.
During the seminar, participants exchanged experiences, shared best practices, and engaged in interactive sessions focused on environmental sustainability, civic engagement, and community leadership.
This initiative strengthened youth collaboration and volunteer culture, directly contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by empowering young people to take active roles in building a sustainable and responsible society
5. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: “I Am a Donor” Campaign
The “I Am a Donor” campaign was held with the active participation of volunteers from Navoi State University, aimed at promoting social responsibility and humanitarian values among young people.
During the event, student volunteers, together with representatives from several local organizations, donated blood at the Navoi Regional Blood Transfusion Station, contributing to saving lives and supporting public health.
This meaningful action highlighted the importance of volunteerism, compassion, and community service, inspiring others to participate in socially beneficial initiatives.
Through such projects, Navoi State University students continue to advance the principles of SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, fostering a spirit of empathy, solidarity, and active citizenship.
6. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: Youth Showcase Innovative Projects in Ecology and Tourism
As part of the 4th International Congress on Ecology and Tourism, titled “Youth – Builders of the Future”, held in the Miraki Tourist Zone of Shahrisabz District, Kashkadarya Region, young innovators, including students from Navoi State University, presented their creative projects dedicated to ecology and sustainable tourism.
The event provided a platform for youth to exchange ideas, propose eco-friendly solutions, and promote responsible tourism practices that support both environmental preservation and community development.
Through their active participation, students demonstrated their commitment to environmental education, innovation, and sustainable development, aligning their efforts with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land.
7. Another Goodwill Initiative Carried Out Within the “Sharing Knowledge – Sharing Books” Project
The Faculty of Exact Sciences at Navoi State University has implemented the next charitable initiative as part of the “Ma’rifat ulashib – Kitob ulashib” (“Sharing Knowledge – Sharing Books”) project.
The delegation consisting of the Dean of the Faculty, D. Kamalova, Deputy Deans for Youth Affairs G. Yusupov, Advisor on Women’s Issues D. Jumayeva, faculty tutors, active professors and teachers, as well as volunteer students from the “Young Assistants” team visited School No. 15 in Karmana district.
During the visit, the school’s teachers and students were presented with more than 250 works of fiction and poetry collections, aimed at supporting reading culture and inspiring young learners to broaden their intellectual horizons.
8. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: “Media Camp” Project
The “Media Camp” project was successfully held with the active participation of volunteer students from Navoi State University.
The program offered participants engaging and practical training sessions on mobile videography, helping them develop skills to create high-quality digital content using mobile devices.
Additionally, an outdoor picnic with interactive and team-building activities provided opportunities for students to strengthen communication, cooperation, and creative exchange.
The project served as a platform for learning, creativity, and networking, fostering a positive environment for collaboration and innovation among young people.
Organized by the Youth Union Council of Navoi Region, this initiative contributed to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, empowering youth through media literacy, creativity, and teamwork.
9. Volunteer Project Highlight: “EKO-INNOVATION–2025” — A Step Towards a Green Future 🌟
The “Eko-Innovation – 2025” exhibition at Navoi State University became a celebration of youth innovation, creativity, and environmental responsibility. 🌍✨ Volunteer students actively participated in the event, supporting the organization, assisting presenters, and engaging with visitors to promote sustainable practices and eco-friendly innovations.

The exhibition was inaugurated by S. Xujjiyev, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations.
30 participants presented their unique ideas, both individually and in teams, to a broad audience.
27 innovative projects were showcased in key areas:
Environmental Protection: Modern solutions for combating climate change and recycling waste.
Renewable Energy Sources: Efficient use of solar, wind, and other natural resources.
Innovative Ecological Technologies: Robotics, sensors, and mobile applications addressing environmental challenges.
Unique Aspects of the Exhibition:
The event went beyond awarding winners; it provided young innovators with opportunities to share ideas globally, exchange experiences, and enhance ecological awareness. Volunteer students played a key role in facilitating presentations, guiding participants, and promoting the importance of environmental responsibility.
Through this initiative, volunteers and student participants demonstrated how youth can actively contribute to preserving the environment and advancing sustainable development, aligning with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy.
10. On September 20, an environmental campaign dedicated to World Cleanup Day was held in the Alisher Navoi Central Park in Navoi city under the slogan “Make Space for Life.”
Volunteer groups consisting of students from the Faculty of Languages and the Faculty of History of Navoi State University actively participated in the event, promoting a healthy lifestyle by combining jogging with environmental cleanup activities.
The active involvement of the university students in this initiative was highly appreciated, and they were awarded memorable gifts by the organizers.
Such noble initiatives not only contribute to preserving the purity of nature, but also play an important role in raising environmental awareness and culture among young people.
11. Kindness and Compassion” Charity Event
A charity visit was organized as part of the “Kindness and Compassion” initiative, aimed at supporting children with special educational needs. In Uzbekistan, the education, social adaptation, and professional development of children with disabilities is considered one of the key priorities of the state youth policy and strong social support system.
Associate Professor Sh. Khaydarova and 2nd-year part-time students of the Preschool Education program visited Specialized Preschool Education Institution No. 16 in Navoi city. During the visit, the delegation met with the director, staff members, teachers, psychologists, and defectologists, and familiarized themselves with the institution’s documentation and educational process.
12. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: “Green Space” (Yashil Makon) Project
As part of the nationwide “Green Space” (Yashil Makon) project aimed at protecting the environment, expanding green areas, and ensuring ecological sustainability, students from the Youth Organization of Navoi State University actively participated in a large-scale tree-planting campaign.
In particular, members of the university’s “Qalqon” team supported this meaningful initiative by taking an active role in planting trees and beautifying the university surroundings.
Such noble activities not only help increase the number of green zones, but also play an essential role in raising ecological awareness and a sense of environmental responsibility among young people.

13. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: “Eco Camp 2025”
From May 26 to June 1, 2025, an environmental forum titled “Eco Camp 2025” was held at a summer camp with the active participation of students from Navoi State University.
The camp featured a series of interactive sessions, discussions, and workshops focused on addressing environmental problems and exploring sustainable solutions. Participants collaborated on developing effective strategies to tackle current ecological challenges and to promote environmentally responsible practices in their communities.
Members of the “Young Ecologists” movement of Navoi region also joined the initiative, sharing their insights, innovative ideas, and enthusiasm for protecting nature.
Through this initiative, Navoi State University students demonstrated their commitment to environmental education and sustainability, contributing to the advancement of SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 13: Climate Action.
14. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: “A Prosperous and Beautiful Neighborhood — The Pride of Our Nation”
As part of a community clean-up campaign, active members of the Navoi Regional “Young Ecologists” Movement Council and students of Navoi State University took an active role in promoting cleanliness and environmental care within local neighborhoods.
Through their dedication, initiative, and teamwork, students made valuable contributions to improving the living environment and fostering community spirit.
Such activities not only enhance the beauty and prosperity of local areas, but also nurture a sense of civic responsibility, environmental awareness, and sustainable living among young people.

15. Student-run SDG 4 Initiative: “Run, Student!” Marathon
A large-scale sports event — the “Talaba Yugur” (Run, Student!) Marathon — was held in Navoi City under the initiative of the Youth Union, aiming to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among young people.
The marathon gathered students from higher education institutions and youth from local communities, fostering unity, energy, and enthusiasm. Participants covered a 3-kilometer route along the “Yoshlik” Stadium, with more than 2,000 sports enthusiasts taking part in the event.
Winners were recognized in multiple categories, including men’s and women’s divisions and by participating institutions and organizations.
The main goal of the project was to encourage regular physical activity, foster community engagement, and promote a culture of healthy living among students and the broader population.
“Talaba Yugur” was not just a race — it represented an inspiring step toward physical and spiritual growth, reinforcing the importance of well-being, social inclusion, and sustainable development in alignment with SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
