Navoi State University  contributes the government`s efforts to achieve the SDGs by 2030. NSU collaborates with the government, business institutions, other universities, non-governmental organizations and other parties in conducting research and providing community services to expedite the attainment of the SDGs targets in Uzbekistan. Navoi State Pedagogical Institute actively participates in the development of society, provides equal opportunities for education of all segments of the population and solves the global problems of the Navoi region and Uzbekistan. The University is aware of its role in creating a fair, educated and socially responsible community. We are determined to promote sustainable development in research and education. As a pedagogical institute, we are able to develop solutions to global problems based on sustainable development goals. Navoi State University  provides students, teachers and researchers with an inspiring educational environment that encourages research, experimentation and the search for the best possible solutions for our common sustainable future. The development of our campus is increasingly being carried out in accordance with the principles of sustainable developments.
Moreover, Navoi State University  hosts the annual meeting of the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party (UzLidep) at which we have discussed the latest progress and actions related to the implementation of the SDG goals.  At this meeting, Navoi State University  has shared its views, strategies and offered to provide the policy makers in Uzbekistan with the latest research, and know-how to tackle the issues that the province is suffering from.
1. Navoi State University (NSU) actively participated in a high-level seminar aimed at advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovation, education, and effective institutional collaboration. The event was held following the open dialogue on February 17 at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, where Minister Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov and First Deputy Prosecutor General Bahriddin Valiev discussed strategies to attract foreign investment and enhance the export potential of higher education institutions. During the seminar, NSU representatives contributed ideas on improving the university’s investment environment, integrating sustainability principles into education, and developing research-based innovations. The discussions emphasized the importance of fostering green growth, academic partnerships, and entrepreneurial initiatives that align with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). NSU’s participation demonstrated its ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable academic and economic development, supporting Uzbekistan’s national priorities, and contributing to the global SDG agenda.
2. On January 30, Navoiy City Mayor D. Ergashev visited Navoi State University (NSU) to discuss strengthening cooperation in education and sustainable urban development — a key step toward achieving SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. During the meeting, Rector M. Kalonov highlighted NSU’s major accomplishments in 2023 across academic, scientific, cultural, and sports fields, as well as its growing engagement in environmental and community projects. He also presented the university’s 2024 strategic agenda, which includes initiatives to promote eco-friendly campus practices, research on green technologies, and active collaboration with local authorities. The visit concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between Navoiy City Administration and NSU, aimed at jointly implementing educational and environmental programs that improve urban sustainability and community well-being. This partnership reinforces NSU’s dedication to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through education, innovation, and civic engagement.
3. Navoi State University (NSU) hosted the “Rahbar va yoshlar” (Leaders and Youth) meeting, bringing together students, faculty, and local authorities to discuss opportunities for personal and professional development, in line with SDG 4: Quality Education. Deputy Governor of Navoi Region J. Khodjayev visited the university to learn about its facilities, academic programs, research initiatives, and efforts to support students’ creativity and talents. Accompanied by Rector Prof. Mukhiddin Kalonov, he attended presentations and engaged in discussions with students, faculty, and employer representatives. The meeting focused on guiding graduates on how to make the most of available opportunities, develop their skills, and prepare for future careers. Students also shared their achievements and proposed ideas for further improvement, fostering dialogue between youth and leaders to support educational growth and lifelong learning.
4. Navoi State University  “If we are united – we are one nation, if we unite – we are Motherland!” under the motto “Entrepreneurs and youth” meeting was organized with the participation of the Navoi Regional Council of UzLiDeP and partner organizations.At the event, the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis A. Tolegenova, the chief of staff of the Navoi Regional Council of UzLiDeP M. Eshniyozov. Head of “Hovandamir” LLC H. Gapparov, head of “Chados-2019” LLC L. Husanova, deputies of the District-City Council, party activists, professors and teachers, deputy deans, tutors and students took part. As it was noted at the event, the deep reforms implemented by our president have provided a number of new opportunities for business representatives, including young entrepreneurs. At this meeting, master classes were held by experienced entrepreneurs to actively involve young people and women in entrepreneurship and crafts.
5. The Uzbek language and literature and mathematics-informatics faculties held a roundtable discussion on “Issues of gender equality and women’s health in the new Uzbekistan” for 4th year students. At the event, adviser to the rector on women’s issues N.Tursunova, head of the women’s wing of the regional council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Sh.Shokirova, deputy of the party Ph.D. Sh. Nasirova, obstetrician-gynecologist of the regional population reproductive health center G. Aliyeva and faculty advisors: Z. Akhmedova, S. Kochkarova took part. A detailed explanation was given on topics such as “The role of gender equality in society”, “Reproductive health and the formation of a healthy family”, “Improving the legal culture of female students in the implementation of gender equality” and “Issues of gender equality in the development of new Uzbekistan”.
6. At the Navoi State University “On additional measures to strengthen the personal responsibility of the heads of state management bodies and local executive authorities in the effective organization of the implementation of legislative documents” (https://lex.uz/docs/5439350) and the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 31, 2021 No. PQ-5132 No. PQ-5132 A seminar was organized to ensure the implementation of the decision (https://lex.uz/docs/5439350). In the seminar, normative legal documents on strengthening enforcement discipline, registration and operation from “ijro.gov.uz”, system operation mechanism, document registration and attachment processes were explained in detail. The seminar was attended by the management of the institute, department heads and employees, deans.
7. THE ROLE OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS IN SOCIETY On this topic, a republican scientific-practical conference dedicated to February 11 – “International Day of Women and Girls in the Field of Science” was held at the Navoi StateUniversity . The deputy governor of the region M. Mamadiyarova took part in the conference and congratulated everyone on the occasion of the important date. The conference was attended by partner organizations, women scientists working in our region, professors, teachers and students, as well as representatives of higher education institutions of the republic through the Zoom platform.
8. International conference at NSU
On October 24-25, 2023, Navoi State Pedagogical Institute, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, together with the German International Cooperation Agency, will hold the 2nd Regional Scientific and Practical Conference on “Regional Aspects of Sustainable Development of Professional Education: Problems and Prospects” More than 200 representatives of educational systems and business circles from the Republics of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, international experts on the professional education system from Germany and Austria, as well as leaders from professional educational institutions in our republic attended the conference. and teaching personnel will participate.
Presentations of foreign and local experts on the following topics will be held at the event:
– “International and national trends in the field of professional education”;
– “Cooperation of professional educational institutions with business communities;”
– “Digitalization of professional education”;
– “Ensuring quality in professional education and improving personnel qualifications”;
– “Financing of education”.
9. NSU delegation attended in the conference “Sustainable development as a vector of attractiveness” was held as part of the activities of “Campus France-2022” and the II Forum of France-Uzbekistan universities. Lectures by professors and teachers of prestigious French higher education institutions and a number of specialists were heard there. After that, a seminar titled “Towards a new regional mobility center in Central Asia: Uzbekistan’s policy of international openness and its cooperation opportunities with France” was held. In the lectures of the heads of higher educational institutions, the integration of the higher education system of Uzbekistan into the global educational space, the strategy of cooperation with French universities, the creation of projects of the two countries and their success were discussed about the important aspects of relations.
10. JOB FAIR — NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH
As part of the meeting between local authorities and students, a job fair was organized at Navoi State University on the initiative of the city administration. Major companies, organizations, and educational institutions in the city participated, presenting available job vacancies. Rector Prof. Mukhiddin Kalonov and university officials actively participated, meeting with employers, reviewing available positions, and helping graduates find jobs matching their specialties. They also provided direct support during the job placement process. The event offered students not only the opportunity to secure employment but also to enhance their skills, expand professional networks, and gain practical experience, contributing to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
