NSU Open Lecture Series
Navoi State University regularly organizes Public Talk events aimed at inspiring students, fostering open dialogue, and promoting professional and personal growth. These sessions bring together academics, industry experts, cultural figures, and community leaders who share their experiences and insights on education, leadership, innovation, and social responsibility.
Each Public Talk provides an open platform for students and young professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, ask questions, and develop critical thinking and communication skills. Such events contribute to building a vibrant academic environment, where learning extends beyond the classroom and connects theory with real-life practice.
Through these initiatives, Navoi State University strengthens its commitment to lifelong learning, inclusivity, and active citizenship, in line with the objectives of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education.
1. Every term the University organizes a number of open lectures on a wide variety of topics.
Psychological training was conducted by the psychologist of the institute with the participation of students and military personnel
2. An educational practical seminar was held on the topic “Prevention of addiction to psychoactive substances”.
At the seminar held at the youth center, experts gave insights into the goals and tasks of preventing addiction to psychoactive substances and other aspects.
Dilfuza Abduraimova, psychologist of the Navoi State University, also participated in the seminar with her lecture.
3. Public Seminar: “Combating Plagiarism” Held at Navoi State University
Within the framework of the regional initiative “Protection of Art and Creativity” Month, Navoi State University organized a seminar-training and roundtable discussion on “Combating Plagiarism.”
The event focused on promoting academic integrity, preventing plagiarism during the dissertation-writing process, and strengthening ethical standards in research activities.
During the roundtable session, Avazbek Rakhmonberdiyev, a specialist from the Navoi Regional Department of Justice, delivered a lecture on the legal consequences of plagiarism and the protection of intellectual property rights, providing participants with valuable insights and practical recommendations.
This open educational event contributed to raising public awareness about research ethics and played an important role in fostering a culture of honesty, responsibility, and respect for intellectual work.
4. A Road Safety Awareness Event Held at Navoi State University
A preventive awareness event was organized at the Faculty of Exact Sciences of Navoi State University in cooperation with the Navoi Regional Department of Road Traffic Safety. The event focused on promoting a culture of road safety among young people, increasing their sense of responsibility when using vehicles, and preventing traffic violations.
5. Protecting Nature — A Nationwide Movement
On 16 September, the Faculty of History at Navoi State University held a roundtable discussion in cooperation with the Navoi Regional Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.
During the event, students were informed about the content and significance of Presidential Decree No. PQ–184, adopted on 15 May 2025, which outlines strategic measures aimed at strengthening environmental protection and encouraging active public participation in this process.
The session also highlighted the importance of 16 September — International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. Speakers discussed global initiatives to protect the ozone layer, including the Montreal Protocol, as well as the ongoing efforts being implemented in Uzbekistan in this field.
It was emphasized that the active involvement of young people plays a crucial role in ensuring environmental sustainability and contributes directly to national and global ecological well-being.
6. A Roundtable Discussion Held to Prevent Youth Crime and Offenses
A roundtable discussion aimed at preventing offenses and crime among young people was held at the Faculty of Exact Sciences of Navoi State University. The event focused on raising legal awareness, promoting responsibility, and encouraging law-abiding behavior among students.
7. Seminar-Training Held at the Faculty of Economics
A seminar-training session was conducted at the Faculty of Economics of Navoi State University with the participation of experts from the Higher School of Business and Entrepreneurship under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the event, relevant topics related to economics, business management, human resource management, tourism and hospitality, as well as logistics were discussed. The specialists provided students with detailed insights into modern management approaches, innovative business ideas and current opportunities in the tourism sector.
The experts shared practical experience and offered valuable recommendations that will benefit students in their future careers. An agreement was also reached regarding the organization of students’ internships at partner institutions.
At the end of the seminar, students received answers to their questions. It was emphasized that continuous self-development, acquiring modern knowledge and skills, and becoming competitive in the labor market are essential for young professionals.
8. At Navoi State University, a meeting titled “Leader and Youth” was held with the participation of the Head of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs, Colonel Azat Tasbayev, as part of the “Safe Cyberspace” month.
During the event, Colonel Tasbayev shared his views on the topic and elaborated on current issues related to youth crime, types of cybercrimes, and real cases involving citizens who have fallen victim to online fraud. His speech, supported by facts and figures, emphasized the growing relevance of cyber safety in society.
Specialists also took the floor and provided clarifications regarding fraudulent schemes on social networks, explaining practical methods of protection against cyber threats.
Throughout the meeting, students asked questions of concern, discussed real-life situations, and received useful recommendations on safe internet practices and protecting themselves in the digital environment.
9. Governor and Youth: Open Dialogue Toward the Future
Navoi State University hosted an open dialogue meeting titled “Governor and Youth: Open Dialogue Toward the Future,” aimed at supporting graduates’ employment and professional development.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Navoi city, D. Ergashev, the Rector of Navoi State University, Prof. M. Kalonov, and university graduates. It served as a continuation of the nationwide initiatives led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to ensure the employment of higher education graduates and strengthen the connection between education and the labor market.
During the meeting, special attention was given to the issues of graduate employment, youth career guidance, and creating favorable conditions for their integration into the workforce. Participants shared their concerns, ideas, and proposals, emphasizing collaboration between local authorities, educational institutions, and employers in supporting young specialists.
This open dialogue reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to fostering youth empowerment, employability, and active civic engagement in building the country’s future.

1. Scientific–Practical Conference: “Modern Digital Technologies in Education: Problems and Prospects”
Navoi State University consistently supports academic dialogue and professional exchange through the organization of international, national, and regional scientific-practical conferences. These events serve as key platforms for researchers, educators, and students to share experiences, discuss educational innovations, and identify solutions to current challenges in the field of education. Each year, the university hosts several academic gatherings aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 — Quality Education — to promote inclusive, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities.
Navoi State University is hosting the next scientific-practical conference on the theme
“Modern Digital Technologies in Education: Problems and Prospects.”
The conference brings together representatives from higher education institutions, research organizations, and IT companies to explore the role of digital transformation in modern teaching and learning. Participants are discussing such issues as:

2. Scientific-Practical Conferences at Navoi State University
Navoi State University regularly organizes national and international scientific-practical conferences aimed at promoting academic exchange and innovation in education.
Recently, an international scientific-practical conference was held on the topic “Dialectological Atlas of National Values – an Important Source in the Study of History.” The event brought together researchers, linguists, and educators who discussed the role of dialectology and national values in understanding cultural and historical development.
3. AN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN THE UNIVERSITY
An international scientific and practical conference on “Integration of Turkic languages in the era of globalization” was held in NSU in cooperation with the scientific research institute “INSTITÜT FÜR DIE WELT DER TURKEN” of Germany.
The international conference was opened vice-rector for educational affairs of the Navoi State University, and expressed his views on the topic.
Specialists from several higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Germany participated in the conference. For example, foreign professors such as Nuray Gunesh, Dr. Iloha Qurbanli, Salida Sharifova, Sevda Rustemova, Zulfiya Guliyeva, Shabnam Guliyeva, Narmin Tarlan Hasanova gave their lectures. Also, the professor of the Institute of Uzbek language, literature and folklore, Yorqinjon Odilov, as well as scientists and experts from several higher education institutions of our republic, participated in the conference.
4. Navoi State University hosted the 5th traditional international scientific-practical conference on the “Traditions and innovations in teacher’s professional training and activities”
At the general meeting of the conference held in online format, vice-rector for educational affairs conveyed the congratulatory address of the university’s rector to the participants of the conference.
At the conference, the head of the scientific research and scientific-pedagogical personnel training department T. Otapov, the head of the department of Russian language and literature F. Jumayeva, the pedagogues and students of the faculty agreed on the achievements, problems and their solutions, the results and perspectives of international cooperation.
5. AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD ON THE TOPIC “FROM CENTRAL ASIA TO ANATOLIA: LANGUAGE, HISTORY, CULTURE AND ETHNOGRAPHY OF THE TURKISH PEOPLE”
Prominent scientists of our country participated in the conference along with scientists from foreign countries such as Germany, Turkey, the United States of America, and Serbia.

6. IV International Symposium “Alisher Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance”
At Navoi State University, as part of the IV International Symposium “Alisher Navoi and the Eastern Renaissance,” several sectional meetings were held dedicated to exploring the intellectual legacy of the great thinker Alisher Navoi and the cultural achievements of the Eastern Renaissance.
The prestigious event brought together prominent scholars, literary critics, historians, and young researchers from Uzbekistan and abroad. Participants presented valuable reports on Navoi’s creative heritage and its contribution to world civilization.
During the sectional sessions, key topics such as “Modern Interpretations of Alisher Navoi’s Works,” “Culture and Science of the Eastern Renaissance,” “Navoi’s Influence on World Literature,” and “The Contemporary Relevance of the Great Thinker’s Ideas” were discussed.
The symposium served as an important platform for sharing new research findings, promoting deeper study of Navoi’s legacy, and ensuring its transmission to future generations.
7. International Scientific-Practical Conference on Alisher Navoi Hosted at Navoi State University.
Navoi region hosted a major international academic event titled “The Role of Alisher Navoi’s Scientific and Literary Heritage in the Spiritual and Educational Development of Humanity.” The conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Khakimiyat of Navoi Region, the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the International Public Foundation named after Alisher Navoi, and Navoi State University.
The event brought together renowned scholars, literary experts, and Navoi researchers from the United States, Türkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and other countries, alongside professors, teachers, and representatives of the cultural sphere from higher education institutions of Uzbekistan. In total, around 200 specialists, including more than 40 foreign scholars, participated and presented their scientific papers.
This international conference served as an open academic platform for the exchange of ideas, promotion of cultural heritage, and dissemination of scientific knowledge, contributing to global dialogue and community engagement in the fields of literature, history, and education.
8. Scientific-Practical Conference “Women in Innovation” Held at Navoi State University
As part of the “INNOWOMENWEEK – Innovative Week of Female Inventors”, Navoi State University organized a scientific-practical conference titled “Women in Innovation.”
The main goal of the conference was to support and promote women’s innovative ideas and scientific achievements in the fields of science, education, technology, healthcare, economy, ecology, and social development. The event aimed to encourage female researchers and professionals to contribute actively to the country’s scientific and technological advancement.
During the conference, participants presented their innovative projects, research findings, and new initiatives reflecting the creativity and intellectual potential of women in various disciplines. The most outstanding ideas and articles were selected and awarded by the organizing committee.
The event played a significant role in empowering women in science, enhancing their research capacity, and promoting innovative thinking and leadership among female scholars and students.
9. Scientific and Practical Conference Launched at the University
On October 3–4, Navoi State University is hosting a national scientific and practical conference on the theme: “Challenges and Solutions for Ecology, Economy, and Sustainable Development in the Context of Climate Change.”
The event brings together scholars, experts, and specialists from various organizations and institutions, who will deliver presentations and share their scientific views and perspectives on the topic.

Open Days
Navoi State University regularly organizes Open Doors Days to strengthen collaboration between the university and the wider community. These events are held several times throughout the academic year and are open to high school students, parents, and prospective applicants. During the Open Days, visitors are introduced to the university’s academic programs, laboratories, libraries, and student clubs. They also have the opportunity to meet faculty members, learn about admission requirements, and explore scholarship opportunities.
The main goal of these events is to promote access to higher education, motivate young people to pursue academic careers, and help them make informed decisions about their future fields of study. Open Doors Days also serve as an important platform for demonstrating the university’s modern educational environment and student-centered approach.
1. Parents’ Congress” Held at Navoi State University
The Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education at Navoi State University organized a “Parents’ Congress” with the active participation of students’ parents. The event brought together university leadership, faculty members, and parents to discuss the educational process, students’ achievements, and opportunities for stronger cooperation in academic development.
During the congress, participants were provided with detailed information about the learning conditions, facilities, and support services available for students. The administration also highlighted the opportunities created to ensure students’ academic success and explained how parents and learners can make the most of these resources.
This open public meeting strengthened university–family cooperation, promoted transparency in the educational process, and encouraged a supportive learning environment for future teachers.
2. STUDENT EXPO–2025” CAREER FAIR IN NAVOI
The “TalabaExpo–2025” Career Fair is taking place at the Alisher Navoi Recreation Park in Navoi city.
The event has brought together more than 120 companies and organizations, offering around 1,300 vacancies, along with seminars, training sessions, startup project presentations, and cultural programs for participants.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Navoi Region Jamshid Khojayev, Elmurod Khoshimov, Director of the “Step into the Future” Center of the National Bank of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and other officials. In their remarks, they highlighted the main goals of the event and the growing opportunities being created for young people in the region.
Within the framework of the “Step into the Future” programme, information was also provided on student support mechanisms, credit opportunities, and internship programmes available to youth.
The career fair also features seminars, business project presentations and exhibitions, aimed at helping students strengthen their professional skills, expand their career outlook, and connect with potential employers.
3. Navoi State University organized an Open Doors Day event under the theme “Fighting Corruption Is Our Common Duty!” as part of its commitment to promoting transparency, integrity, and civic responsibility within the academic community.
The event was initiated by the university’s Compliance Control Department for Anti-Corruption Management and brought together representatives from regional political party councils, non-governmental organizations, national cultural centers, parents, media representatives, university staff, and students.
During the event, participants discussed the importance of preventing corruption, strengthening ethical standards in education, and fostering a culture of honesty and accountability. Open dialogue and joint initiatives were emphasized as essential tools for ensuring integrity in all spheres of university and community life.
This activity reflects the university’s continuous efforts to raise public awareness and promote cooperation among educational institutions, civil society, and the general public in the fight against corruption.
4. As part of the #Dolzarb_90_kun project, the Department of Marketing and Student Internship together with the Department of Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics at Navoi State University organized an Open Doors Day and Job Fair.
During the event, faculty members held open discussions with students, focusing on their creative interests, aesthetic vision, and artistic aspirations. Students showcased their artworks, design models, and applied art projects, reflecting their creativity, professional enthusiasm, and innovative thinking.
The event served as both a platform for artistic growth for students and an opportunity for teachers to discover new talents. Employers, faculty members, tutors, students, and prospective applicants participated actively in the fair, which promoted collaboration between education and the labor market.
5. Open Doors Day at Navoi State University Academic Lyceum
On March 27, 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00, the Academic Lyceum of Navoi State University hosted an Open Doors Day event for 9th-grade students from all schools across the city and region.
The event provided prospective students with the opportunity to learn about the lyceum’s academic programs, facilities, and admission procedures. As part of the program, subject-based test competitions were organized in various disciplines to assess students’ knowledge and interests.
The winners of the tests were awarded certificates and prizes, encouraging young learners to pursue academic excellence and prepare for higher levels of education.
This initiative aimed to strengthen cooperation between secondary schools and the lyceum, as well as to promote access to quality education and early career orientation among youth.
6. Open Doors Day at the Military Unit with Student Participation
In celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Defenders of the Motherland (January 14), an Open Doors Day event was held at the Navoi garrison military unit.
Students, professors, and tutors from the Faculty of Russian and Kazakh Philology of Navoi State University took part in the event. Participants became acquainted with the daily life, discipline, and responsibilities of military personnel, gaining insight into the structure and role of the national armed forces.
The visit aimed to promote patriotism, civic responsibility, and respect for national defenders among young people, as well as to strengthen the connection between the education system and military institutions in fostering well-rounded citizens.
