In Uzbekistan, the “Clean Hands” program is being implemented to expand access to hygiene and sanitation facilities, particularly for the younger generation. Within the framework of this initiative, all healthcare and educational institutions are being equipped with handwashing stations, while canteens and public food facilities are provided with soap and antiseptic supplies to ensure a high level of sanitation and hygiene. As part of the program, a republican working group visited Navoi State University to study the current hygiene conditions and provide recommendations for further improvement. The group also met with students living in dormitories to discuss existing opportunities and sanitary facilities.
Moreover, the program is aligned with the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy and the State Program for the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy (2025), emphasizing the nation’s commitment to improving public health, environmental sustainability, and overall quality of life.
As part of the university’s efforts to promote social sustainability and student well-being, the History Faculty teachers visited students residing in rented accommodations to assess their living conditions. During the visits, the teachers observed cleanliness, discipline, and the proper functioning of gas and electrical appliances, while also emphasizing adherence to safety standards. The initiative aimed to ensure that students live in safe, healthy, and sustainable environments conducive to learning and personal growth. Additionally, students received important guidance on responsible internet use, awareness of cybercrimes, and the dangers of accessing prohibited websites. Teachers also encouraged students to spend their free time meaningfully by reading literature and attending additional language courses. This activity not only supports students’ personal and academic development but also contributes to the university’s broader sustainability goals — fostering a responsible, secure, and educated community.
The “Eco-Innovation – 2025” exhibition held at Navoi State University became a true celebration of young inventors, creative ideas, and environmental responsibility. This inspiring event not only showcased the students’ innovative potential but also served as a driving force for protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development across the university community. The event was officially opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, S. Khujjiyev. A total of 30 participants — both individual and team-based — presented their unique and forward-thinking ideas to the public.  27 innovative projects were introduced in key sustainability-related areas:
Environmental Protection: Modern solutions for combating climate change and recycling waste.
Renewable Energy Sources: Efficient use of solar, wind, and other natural resources.
Innovative Environmental Technologies: Application of robotics, sensors, and mobile technologies to address ecological challenges.
The event went beyond awarding winners — it became a platform for young inventors to share their ideas globally, exchange experiences, and promote environmental awareness. Each participant demonstrated how their innovation could contribute to preserving the planet and ensuring a sustainable future.
Young innovators are the architects of a bright and sustainable tomorrow. Together, we can build a greener world — your idea could be the start of that change!
