The name of Amir Temur rightfully occupies a prominent place among the greatest figures in world history. He made an incomparable contribution to the development of human civilization as a great statesman, powerful military commander, and patron of science, culture, and art. His ideas of statehood based on justice, strong governance system, and enlightened policies remain highly relevant today.
In particular, the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 5, 2026, “On the Wide Celebration of the 690th Anniversary of the Birth of the Great Statesman and Commander, Patron of Science, Culture, and Art Sahibqiran Amir Temur,” serves as a solid legal foundation for activities in this direction. In accordance with this resolution, large-scale efforts are being carried out across the country to deeply study Amir Temur’s rich scientific, spiritual, and cultural heritage, widely promote it, and instill its values in the younger generation.
A presentation of the two-volume, 1,000-page book titled “Amir Temur and His Legacy,” published by the scholarly community of the Republic of Türkiye, was held at Navoiy davlat universiteti.
One of the authors of the book, renowned Turkish scholar and honorary professor of Navoiy davlat universiteti, Kamal Yavuz Ataman, took part in the presentation.
In his speech, the university rector, Professor M. Kalonov, spoke about the constructive activities of Sahibqiran Amir Temur and noted the growing interest in Amir Temur’s personality both in Uzbekistan and abroad.
Professor Kamal Yavuz Ataman discussed Amir Temur’s military strategy and his place in world history, emphasizing that the book “Amir Temur and His Legacy” is a worthy gift from Turkish scholars dedicated to the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth.
The professors and lecturers who spoke at the event also delivered scientifically grounded presentations on Amir Temur’s immense contribution to public administration, military strategy, diplomacy, and the development of science and culture.
